Train to Gain success story

Release date: 30/10/2007

Four specialist machine setter/operators employed by Container Printers (Birmingham) have been awarded NVQ level 2 (PMO) which were funded through the Train to Gain initiative.

Containers Printers UK Ltd is one of the leading Aerosol manufacturers in the UK, supplying many markets such as the lucrative Personal Care, fragrance, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, household & car care Industry with aerosols. The company selected the EEF Technology Centre to train and assess their four key personnel in specialist machine setting, quality and inspection techniques and revisited health and safety current requirements,

Has the training made a difference? Mat Stanfield (Operations Manager) said ‘There has been a significant improvement in team working and motivation. The training and qualification has given each person a confidence boost and has enabled them to make valuable contributions to specific projects which we are undertaking’.

The team thought it was worthwhile; the trainer/assessor appointed by the EEF Technology Centre made the learning enjoyable, interesting, company focussed and worthwhile, ‘learning by doing, has helped me with my general daily work and has made me realise that learning something new can be fun’.

‘The Train to Gain initiative has given people an opportunity to revisit learning’ said Jeff Matthews BDM from EEF Technology Centre. This is a great example how by taking on board the Train to Gain programme can bring improvements both to the individual and the company which inevitably improves the bottom line. ‘A perfect WIN, WIN situation’
