Thanks to collaboration between EEF Cymru Wales and ELWa, training is now available to bosses across North & South East Wales, through the latest Leadership & Management Development Courses.
Martin Bibey, Head of External Affairs for EEF Cymru Wales, said: "Tailored workshops will help both new and established leaders with techniques to gain the confidenceof a team of people, eliminate of minimise the need for fire fighting and resolve everyday conflicts.
It is important that these skills are regularly renewed and updated by eventhe most experienced managers."
Although open to managers working for organisations in any sector, those in SMEs can take advantage of a reduction of up to 70% when attending, thanks to ELWa funding.
More than 4,000 businesses across Wales are expected to take part during this year alone. Grenville Jackson, director of strategy and skills of ELWa said: "The three year programme addresses an issue that has been highlighted by surveys conducted in Wales - business leaders need to renew their skills as much as any other member of the workforce."
Offering these courses is a crucial part of the Welsh Assembly Government's Skills & Education Action Plan for Wales, and has the potential to have a huge impact on the Welsh economy.
Eight workshops have been designed to help managers improve productivity and profitability, create effective teams, increase staff motivation, improve job satisfaction and plan strategies for success, regardless of their experience.
Ranging in length from one day to nine days, the courses have been designed by management training experts at EEF who all have experience of leading major organisations and in training business leaders.
