We worked with ABB to implement a fully accredited development programme for both first line and middle management. This included three full programmes of the ILM Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management and two programmes of the ILM Level 5 Introductory Diploma in Management.
With delegates drawn from ABB sites across the UK, we ensured that the programme minimised time away from work and allowed for flexibility through distance learning. Carefully selected tutors, all of whom had been senior managers themselves, delivered this intensive programme with a firm emphasis on practical application.
Feedback on the programme was excellent. Delegates found it easy to transfer the skills they learnt into the workplace and gained a new-found confidence in managing people. In addition, ABB has benefited from a reduction in planning time for new programmes, an excellent relationship with the course providers and cost-effective rates through bulk purchase.
We have now become a preferred supplier to ABB for soft skills nationally with training being delivered both at ABB sites and EEF centres. The strength of the partnership is such that our tutors recently attended a 3 day ABB cultural change programme, enabling the company’s concepts and terminology to be incorporated into future programme design.
