EEF response to Energy Performance Commitment consultation

Download EEF's response to the DTI consultation on the Energy Performance Commitment which closed on 31 January

This is a submission in response to DEFRA’s Consultation on measures to reduce carbon emissions in large non-energy intensive business and public sector organisations.

EEF welcomes government’s commitment to increase energy efficiency and reduce emissions in the ‘large non-energy intensive’ sector. However, we are sceptical that the proposed Energy Performance Commitment (EPC) scheme would be an effective mechanism through which to achieve these objectives and fear it might have a negative impact on manufacturing.
