The aim of the surgeries is to share experiences, lessons learnt and good practice in implementing the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005. The series of four surgeries focus on hand-arm vibration.
Three surgeries have already been held, at EEF Northern, in Washington, EEF Sheffield and EEF West Midlands in Birmingham. The final surgery will take place near East Malling in Kent on Tuesday 24th June 2008.
The surgeries are for anyone using machinery or hand-held vibrating tools or other vibrating equipment who would like to learn more and share their experiences in managing vibration risks.
What are the surgeries about?
The surgeries will include case study presentations ('success stories') and will tackle four main areas:-
- risk assessment and planning what to do
- implementing HSE recommended controls and developing new controls
- training and involving the workforce
- carrying out health surveillance
They will aim to answer (with HSE Vibration and Occupational Health specialists) any other questions which you have.
Who should attend the surgeries?
The surgeries will be of particular interest to Managing Directors, Production Managers, Health and Safety Advisers and Safety Representatives.
How much is the day?
The Surgery is £150 +VAT (for EEF members) and £195 +VAT for non-members.
