EEF Response to DTI Consultation on the Draft Regulations on Maternity and Adoption Leave and Flexible Working

Attached as an Appendix is a copy of EEF’s response to the DTI consultation document “Choice and Flexibility”, the draft Regulations on Maternity and Adoption Leave and Flexible Working, arising from provisions in the Work and Families Bill that have been submitted to the DTI earlier this week.

1. The DTI consultation document “Choice and Flexibility” sought views on two sets of draft Regulations, the draft Maternity and Adoption Leave and Pay Regulations and the draft Flexible Working Regulations. In both cases, these draft Regulations arise out of provisions in the Work and Families Bill which will shortly be completing its passage through Parliament.

2. Following discussion on these draft Regulations at the last meeting of the Employment Policy Committee and some helpful comments from some EEF Associations, EEF’s response to these draft Regulations has now been finalised and submitted to the DTI. A copy of this EEF response is attached as an Appendix.
