The new compensation limits for claims in the employment tribunal have been published. From 1 February 2007 the limits applying to certain awards payable under employment legislation will increase.
The main points to note are that the maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal will be increased from £58,400 to £60,600 and the maximum amount for a week’s pay (for the purpose of calculating a basic award for unfair dismissal or for a redundancy payment) will be increased from £290 to £310.
