he Government has now amended the Occupational and Personal Pension Schemes (Consultation by Employers and Miscellaneous Amendment) Regulations 2006 through Regulation 10 of the Occupational and Personal Pension Schemes (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2006 to ensure that, from 6 April 2006, the size of employers affected by these Regulations is now consistent with the Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations 2004.
2. As a result of this, the size of employers that are covered by the requirement to consult active and prospective members of an occupational or a personal pension scheme to which the employer contributes, or their representatives, before making a number of specified major changes to their pension scheme will be:-
a) Employers with at least 150 employees from 6 April 2006 to 5 April 2007
b) Employers with at least 100 employees from 6 April 2007 to 5 April 2008
and
c) Employers with at least 50 employees from 6 April 2008.
