New SMP, SAP, SPP and SSP rates announced for 2008

The new rates for statutory maternity pay, statutory adoption pay, statutory paternity pay and statutory sick pay for the next financial year are now available.

The government has announced the new rates for statutory maternity pay (SMP), statutory adoption pay (SAP), statutory paternity pay (SPP) and statutory sick pay (SSP) for the next financial year.

From 6 April 2008, the standard rate of SMP, SAP and SPP will increase from £112.75 to £117.18 per week. SSP will also increase from £72.55 to £75.40 per week. The earnings threshold for these payments will increase to £90 per week.
