fair processing information

In order for information to be fairly processed, the employer must provide the individual with certain information at the time when the information is obtained. This fair processing information should usually include:

  • the identity of the employer;
  • if the employer has nominated a representative for the purposes of meeting the requirements of the Act, the identity of that person;
  • the purposes for which the information is intended to be processed;
  • the likely consequences of the processing;
  • whether the employer anticipates that it will disclose the information to anyone else.
