manual workers

The procedure agreement for manual workers dated 1 March 1976 lays down the procedure to be observed for dealing with questions raised by employees.

This includes:

  • procedural steps for dealing domestically with individual grievances and collective issues raised by employees;
  • external stages for further discussion in the event that domestic discussion fails to reach agreement, including external conference and national level meetings;
  • a peace clause prohibiting industrial action before the procedure has been exhausted;
  • statements outlining the collective bargaining relationship between EEF companies and recognised unions.
