When leaving a company, an employee is entitled to an up-to-date statement of the value of his or her company pension. The employee can ask the company scheme to make a transfer payment into another occupational or personal pension scheme on his or her behalf. Alternatively, the employee may choose to leave his or her accrued rights in the company's scheme and start a new scheme with a new employer.
