National Science and Engineering Week
9-18 March 2007
The ETB is working with The BA (British Association for the Advancement of Science) to expand the UK's National Science Week public engagement programme to become National Science and Engineering Week.
National Science and Engineering Week (which also includes Social Science Week) is supported by £280,000 of funding from the Department of Trade and Industry.
The new partnership is set to broaden the scale and scope of the programme and to celebrate the vital contribution that engineering makes to society.
There will be a significant increase in engineering related activities, the addition of some 500 engineering focused events, and energy and climate change will again be a key focus during the week, building on the success of the Click for Climate campaign during last year's National Science Week.
Why get involved in National Science and Engineering Week?
Organising a National Science and Engineering Week event can benefit you, your organisation, your community and the wider public. Potential benefits include:
·
- increasing the profile of your organisation and/or area of science or engineering.
- building links with the local community.
- reaching new audiences and attracting new members/supporters/staff.
- improving organisational and communication skills of staff and volunteers.
- attracting contributions and support.
- enthusing and inspiring people with science, engineering and technology!
