The range of technical engineering qualifications in the UK is daunting, and when you factor in the possibility of recruitment abroad, just how can employers be confident that the engineers and technicians they recruit have got the qualifications they need?
EC(UK) has created a new company which will provide a search and verification process for employers, with varying fees, depending on the nature of the search.
REGISTRATION VERIFICATION
TQV can verify whether a named individual is a registered engineer or technician. A simple telephone call with the full name and date of birth is normally all that is necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS EQUIVALENCE
The equivalence of a technical qualification from overseas can be established within 5 working days.
QUALIFICATION VERIFICATION
This service not only establishes the equivalence of a claimed qualification but also that the named individual does hold that award. Up to 14 working days.
COMPETENCE VERIFICATION
TQV will arrange a professional review interview of your candidate to be conducted as quickly as possible and certainly within 90 days. Successful completion of the interview can be made a condition of earlier employment.
Accessing the Service
EC(UK) are now looking to test the service, and are offering EEF members the chance to use it FREE for a short period.
As the service has yet to be officially launched, the brochure attached currently contains dummy contact details.
If you are an EEF member, and wish to take advantage of this opportunity to authenticate qualifications, contact Dr Michael Sanderson at msanderson@engc.org.uk or on 020 7240 7891.
