Many engineers and manufacturers are invited to talk to students about the work that they do. Talking Engineering consists of a powerpoint presentation and supporting guidance for anyone who wants a basic structure on which to build.
The presentation is image-based, and designed to give the presenter maximum freedom to develop their own style and content. We are happy for individuals to insert their own slides to illustrate their experiences and develop the areas where they wish to focus. Similarly, we would expect individuals to remove any elements which they feel are not appropriate.
Your EEF regional Association can also provide guidance and other support materials.
ETB have published a guide to resources available relating to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics careers - download it from the SCENTA website here (click the "Download PDF catalogue button on the upper left hand side of the page).
Additionally, ETB have produced a CD-ROM of information on engineering careers which you might consider obtaining in order to leave as a resource for the school - see the website for details.
Careers literature for young people can be obtained from the Engineering Careers Information Service on 0800 282 167.
