Personalising Further Education: Developing a Vision

This recent DfES consultation put forward some definitions and directions to help FE personalise the learning experience in order to improve retention and achievement

Summary of EEF response

'Personalisation' must mean allowing employers and training providers to tailor delivery methods to suit business.

It should not mean compromising on content or standards, but would be valuable in enabling learners, employers and providers to prioritise certain aspects of a course.

In order for 'personalisation' for learners to be successful, proper careers information, advice and guidance, and effective initial learner assessment is essential.
