Council publishes common position on REACH

The Council of Ministers has now formally published its Common Position on the proposed REACH regulation agreed toward the end of 2005.

The Council's Common Position can be downloaded here.

The dossier will now be subject to a 2nd Reading in the European Parliament. During the 1st Reading of the regulations in the European Parliament, EEF successfully obtained a number of specific amendments made to the proposal, especially on steel related issues. Our emphasis has now shifted to more general industry issues, as well as keeping a watch to preserve the amendments we have already successfully added.
