IOA certificate of competence in workplace noise risk assessment

This course demonstrates the impact of noise hazards in the workplace and shows delegates how to protect their colleagues’ hearing. It provides a thorough training for staff who need to implement an effective noise management system which satisfies the Control of Noise at Work Regulations which came into force in April 2006.

Basic concepts of noise assessment
How to measure and record noise exposure levels
Understand how hearing loss occurs
How to control noise levels
Know where noise reduction measures are needed
Select effective hearing protection
Assess the effectiveness of noise control measures
Legal requirements

This course will enable participants to:

Understand the requirements of the new Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2006
Get to grips with using a noise meter and its functions
Undertake noise readings and assessment
Identify practical control measures to reduce the risk

This course is aimed at anyone with the responsibility for managing noise in the workplace, including safety professionals and managers.
