Disciplinary interviewing skills

This course equips participants with the knowledge of how to take formal disciplinary action against as employee. Time is also spent establishing what can be done to pre-empt the need for formal disciplinary action by better use of informal "counselling".

Conducting the interview and maintaining control
Making appropriate decisions at the end of the meeting

Understand the nature and purpose of pre-discipline
Identify the elements of good disciplinary practice and procedures
Plan for a disciplinary meeting
Conduct and control a disciplinary meeting and keep the appropriate records
Administer the appropriate penalty

For managers, supervisors and team leaders who are responsible for handling or participating in disciplinary situations, conducting meetings and giving warnings, whether they are formal or informal.
