Representatives of Employee Safety - RoES Certificate

Make sure your Representatives of Employee Safety are adequately trained to represent your employees.

Employers have a duty to consult their employees on matters of health and safety. The Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996 require employers to consult employees who are not represented by safety representatives appointed by recognised trade unions.

They can either consult their employees directly or consult through Representatives of Employee Safety (RoES). This course has been developed by EEF to help RoES understand and fulfil their duties and help employers comply with health and safety law.

You will learn:

to communicate with and consult your employer on health and safety issues
recognise changes in workplace or activity which will affect health and safety
identify employees' training needs
contribute to improving your organisation's management of health and safety
duties of employee representatives
understanding hazard and risk
introduction to health and safety law
risk assessment
workplace health and safety risks
fire safety
health and safety management and team working.
