IOSH Managing Safely

This flexible open programme is designed for delegates from all industrial sectors who are required to manage health and safety as an aspect of their line function.

This course provides the knowledge and skills required to:

Apply effective management practices to health and safety issues
Set practicable objectives and monitor progress
Recognise hazards and identify control measures
Understand behavioural factors affecting health and safety performance
Ensure that adequate training and supervision is provided for all employees
Investigate incidents and take appropriate remedial action
Communicate effectively on health and safety issues
Understand legal responsibilities and how to comply with them
HSE ‘Essentials for Health and Safety at Work’
HSE ‘ Successful Health and Safety Management’ book

Assessment and Qualification

Delegates are required to complete a written examination paper at the end of the programme and a practical assessment involving a short workplace related project

Successful candidates will be awarded a Certificate by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) – a recognised, benchmark qualification for managers and supervisors.
