NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health

Course Overview

This course provides delegates with a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of health and safety issues relevant to business and leads to a nationally recognised qualification. It is the ideal foundation for anyone wishes to be a designated competent person.

Course Content

The training programme follows the NEBOSH Certificate syllabus. This includes:

  • Health and safety law
  • General workplace hazards
  • Health hazards
  • Risk assessment
  • Safety policies
  • Safe systems of work and permits
  • Accident causation, investigation and reporting procedures
  • Fire prevention and precautions
  • Noise control
  • Materials handling
  • Human factors

Assessment and Qualification

Delegates are required to complete two written examination papers on the final day of the course and a practical assessment requiring the submission of a written report within seven days of course completion.

Both the examination papers and the projects are moderated by NEBOSH and successful candidates will be awarded the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.
