IOA Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement

This course is aimed at personnel who need to be able to carry out Environmental Noise Assessments and devise effective company Noise Management Programmes to meet the requirements of the relevant British Standard or Guidance document.

It will provide candidates with a basic knowledge of the methodology of noise measurement (including site practical), along with a working knowledge of noise controls.

As part of the course, delegates undertake a practical and written assessment. Successful candidates are awarded a Certificate of Competence as validated by the Institute of Acoustics.

Delegates should bring a scientific calculator and a precision integrating sound level meter capable of measuring L10, L90 as well as L_eq. EEF can arrange hire of a suitable instrument at additional cost given two weeks notice.
