"Representing employees on health and safety matters is a big responsibility. We want to make sure that representatives (RoES) are equipped to carry out their duties effectively and confidently; and that companies make the best use of employee resources to ensure they get the maximum benefit from health and safety management", Steve Walter, EEF Health and Safety Adviser.

HSE says, "HSE welcomes this course as a contribution to improved health and safety training. Evidence shows that involving employees effectively in workplace decisions leads to improving motivation and contributes to better health and safety performance."

The course is delivered over a total of three days either en bloc or in one-day modules. Delegates are assessed at the end of the course and a nationally recognised certificate issued to successful candidates.

As many representatives are also involved with consultation on environmental issues, an optional one-day module is offered to cover this topic.
