Handling Stress

Course Overview

Recent figures show that stress was the second most common reason for non manual employees to be off sick, how much of it is work related is unclear. The HSE have estimated that stress costs business around £3.7 billion per year. Stress is commonly referred to as 'the new bad back', but employers increasingly find it difficult to deal with as there are no visible signs of injury and it is particular to an individual's circumstances.

EEF have published 'Managing Stress at Work', which was followed by the development of a Work Organisation Assessment tool, developed with rigorous scientific input from the Institute of Work, Health and Organisation and the University of Nottingham. This seminar is a multidisciplinary approach to stress and will look at checking the 'stress temperature' of your organisation and how to make improvements. Employee relations, Health and Safety, legal and occupational health advisers will be on hand to address the issues, give advice and answer
questions.
