This course is aimed at those who carry out manual handling activities at work and introduces students to the hazards of manual handling, the risks involved, controls available and what to expect from a manual handling assessment.

The principles for controlling manual handling risks and application in a practical context
The value and purpose of conducting manual handling assessments; what employees can expect of such assessments
Understanding Manual Handling Operations Regulations and responsibilities

This course will prepare delegates to look carefully at their own work activities and contribute to the development of safer methods and tasks, in cooperation with their managers and supervisors

Following succession completion of a short assessment, this course leads to a CIEH Principles in Manual Handling Certificate
