Introduction to Employment Law

Given the compensation culture climate in which we work it is more important than ever for managers and supervisors to appreciate the complexities of employment law. From the moment that they step into the role, supervisors and managers must be aware of their responsibilities, such as understanding when they need to take advice, the consequences of their actions and the importance of adopting a fair and consistent approach to managing people. This course will reflect the changes to the legal requirements of conducting disciplinary and grievance procedures due to take effect in April 2009.

This course includes a variety of discussion topics and practical exercises to highlight the key aspects of employment law about which anyone with supervisory or managerial responsibility must be aware. The course also provides an excellent introduction to employment law for employees at all levels who are new to people management.
