IOA Certificate in the Management of Occupational Exposure to Hand-arm vibration

5-day Examined Course

This course will enable delegates to appreciate the nature of HAV hazards in the workplace, the need to protect employees from hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) and advise and assist their company in meeting the new legal requirements.

As part of the course delegates undertake a practical and written assignment. Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate validated by the Institute of Acoustics.

This five-day course will include:

Legislative requirements
Identification of HAV hazards and assessment of risk
Vibration exposure control techniques and identification of areas where vibration reduction is required
Assessing the effectiveness of vibration control measures
Evaluation of daily vibration exposure
Use and limitations of personal protective equipment

Delegates should bring a scientific calculator and may also like to bring their own hand arm vibration measuring equipment, but this is not a requirement for the course

Personnel who are actively involved in the management of Hand-Arm Vibration (HAV) in the workplace
