PgCert
The Post Graduate Certificate (PgCert) in Health, Safety & Environmental Management consists of two 5 day environmental modules. The aim of the PgCert is to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to manager environmental affairs in the workplace.
PgDip
Delegates can then opt to take a further four 5 day modules (modules 5/6 are taught in the same week) to obtain a Post Graduate Diploma (PgDip) in HS&E Management. The PgDip subject to IEMA approval will allow entry into IEMA at Associate Level (AIEMA.) The aim of the PgDip stage is to review and and evaluate current techniques of health, safety and environmental management and to develop necessary skills to enable relevant techniques to be applied at strategic and other levels within organisations.
MSc
After completion of the PgDip delegates can opt to undertake a dissertation based on any HS&E topic, and obtain the MSc.The dissertation is supervised by Oxford Brookes University.
If the dissertation project is approved by IOSH delegates will not have to complete the Skill Development Portfolio (SDP) as a requirement of Chartered Membership.
Assessment
Each module is assessed by the successful completion of set course work. Some aspects of the course include group presentations, some of which are assessed.
Accredited Prior Learning
Accreidted Prior Learning (APL) if followed up by some additional assessments and direct study, can be claimed againt the PgDip for holders of the IEMA Certificate in Environemental Management of the NEBOSH Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management. Such delegates will only need to attend day one of module 1.
