EEF’s Technology Training Centre has become known as the UK’s premier facility for training and development for apprentices and professionals in manufacturing and engineering. We have expanded with a new facility, the EEF Technology Hub, this has increased our capacity to deliver world class technical and leadership skills.
The new site adds a further 75,000 sqft to our training facility, brings the investment to £11 million since 2014 and will be the home for our new leadership and manufacturing skills solutions.

Manufacturing skills solutions
The EEF Technology Hub, which is part of the Aston Training Campus, we upskill the current workforce and the next generation in both traditional and cutting-edge techniques, in order to keep the UK skills base the forefront for new manufacturing and engineering technologies. The training is delivered across many technical areas including robotics, CAD, machining, pneumatics and hydraulics, and has the UK’s only fully operational tool room in a private training facility.
With the Technology Hub now open, and with the further expansion take placing now in September 2017 the capacity for training apprentices across the Campus will be in the region of 400 each year. Our portfolio of apprentice pathways are across; Intermediate, Advanced, Higher and Degree Apprenticeships.
Leadership skills solutions
At the Hub we are developing the leaders and managers that are keeping UK Manufacturing at the forefront of the fourth industrial revolution. Based within a manufacturing environment, leaders are equipped with the leadership skills underpinned by the fundamentals of a manufacturing business such as productivity and lean manufacturing practices. There are also opportunities for organisations to use their Apprenticeship Levy to upskill their managers through our Management and Development Apprenticeships.
