With a high degree of economic uncertainty lying ahead in 2012, another year of below-trend growth seems likely. The main challenges for manufacturers stem from the unresolved Eurozone crisis, but other markets are still also still shaking off the after-effects of recession and financial crisis.
 
Manufacturers find few reasons to be cheerful about the UK economy in 2012, though many are still optimistic about their own firm-level performance in the year ahead.
