Week in review: 

  Manufacturing output

Manufacturing output fell by 1.2% in the three months to May, compared with the previous three months.
   Producer prices Input prices were 11% lower than a year ago, while output price inflation fell to 0.1%, the slowest in 5 years.  
 House prices House prices were 15% lower than a year ago in June, but the rate of decline eased, according to the Halifax.
   UK trade deficit   The UK trade deficit in goods and services narrowed to £2.2bn in May, from £3bn in April.
 Car sales Car registrations were 7.3% higher in June than in May, suggesting car scrappage schemes has helped boost sales.
MPC decision The MPC voted to hold interest rates at 0.5% and continue with its £125bn quantitative easing programme.
