Comprising 11 regional Associations, the Engineering Construction Industries Association (ECIA) and UK Steel, EEF is one of the UK's leading providers of business services in employment relations and employment law, health, safety and environment, manufacturing performance, and education and skills.
Expert advice in employment law, health and safety, skills and training
Membership gives you access to our comprehensive range of expertise and knowledge. We also design solutions and programmes to meet the individual requirements of your business.
Our members and clients rely on us as their expert help in times of need. Whether the issue is employee relations or employment legislation; health and safety; or skills and training, we have over 500 experienced staff across the UK, supporting over 6,000 member organisations covering all industry sectors.
Companies value the personal service they receive from EEF. Many of our employee relations advisers have been helping and supporting their particular clients for many years. Member companies see us as a part of their management team and not just another supplier.
Representation at employment tribunals with a proven record of success
Not only do we advise on employment matters, we will also represent you if you have to appear before an Employment Tribunal. We won 80% of cases that were heard by the employment tribunal in 2004, well above the 55% national average. The quality of our legal teams is second to none.
Working at the highest levels to influence legislation
Backing up our teams in the regions are our London and Brussels offices. By engaging with government at all levels, we can provide 'early warning' of forthcoming legislation, so that your business can prepare well in advance. At EEF, we believe in acting as a critical friend to government - we work to ensure that legislation is in our member's interests, but we are prepared to criticise if we feel it goes too far.
Relieving the burden of managing health and safety
If you feel that health and safety legislation is becoming unmanageable, then we can help with that too. Our advisers provide whatever support you need, including working with you on the development of safety management systems and acting as your on-site competence if you do not employ your own dedicated health and safety professional.
If you do employ specialists in-company, EEF can help with their professional development. On the health, safety and environmental side we are accredited to deliver NEBOSH and IOSH training. We also offer a range of CIPD-accredited courses for human resources staff.
The amount of legislation and regulation, and the associated risk of non-compliance is increasing year on year. EEF is here to help you manage these risks in a way which can add real value to your business. We understand what you need and we are keen to provide it.
