What will excite the judges for this year’s EEF Awards?

Professor Steve Evans of Cranfield University will again lead the judging panel for this year’s EEF Future Manufacturing Awards. He explains the best way to formulate an entry and what it takes to win over the judges

"We want to hear about the difficulties you have faced, your challenges and the dynamic ideas you have put in place to overcome them and grow"

Professor Steve Evans

EEF knows that every day, on shop floors across the country, UK manufacturers continue to break down barriers, reinvent the rules and reach out for new opportunities.

The Future Manufacturing Awards, in partnership with Infor, are a great way to show the world just what our industry is capable of, proving to government decision-makers just how vibrant and impressive the manufacturing industry really is.

We want to hear about the difficulties you have faced, your challenges and the dynamic ideas you have put in place to overcome them and grow.

But we also want to hear about the good times. Tell us about the pats on the back from customers, and some of the shining achievements that weren’t necessarily set out in the original plan.

What we don’t want is a step-by-step project report. As judges, we would like to feel that we’ve been invited into your factory and have left motivated and inspired by what we’ve seen. The entries that work best are the ones that tell stories – – ones you could recount to friends about real, hard-working manufacturers who refuse to give up on a fight.

Companies big and small should enter the Awards to receive recognition and confirmation that your hard work is worth all the effort. So what are you waiting for? Tell us your story.

Entries close 31 July - don't miss the deadline!
