Our new office is a base for member services, led by our employment law and health, safety and environment experts, providing training and consultancy as well as specialist advice.
At the official opening, EEF Region Director David Seall stressed the importance of east of England manufacturing in the national context.
“This region is home to world-class companies and is internationally renowned for R&D. It is perfectly placed to maximise opportunities in knowledge-based sectors.”
Declaring the office open for business, Will Pope, Chair Elect of East of England Development Agency (EEDA) said:
“We have enormous opportunities opening up in areas such as low carbon, but we need to build a stronger regional partnership between EEDA and manufacturing to push home this advantage. By working together, we can ensure that support is focused where it is needed and is of high quality.”
Our Cambridge office team hit the ground running with a full programme of activities and training courses.
Earlier this month, the local HR & Legal team staged a mock tribunal, a training exercise for members complete with respondent and claimant, evidence from witnesses, cross examination, summing up and the all-important decision.
During June and July, a programme of training courses will run, covering technical competencies such as IOSH and COSHH plus Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) qualifications including team leading and front line management.
