International Diploma raises the bar for health & safety

We have built on our training expertise to develop an international health and safety management diploma that complements our training for national qualifications at all levels

"We wanted to take concrete action to raise the bear and ensure that we apply the highest health and safety standards throughout our company. As a global organisation, we believe it's our social responsibility to make sure we operate according to the same best practice in all our markets."

EEF member ABB wanted to be sure its global health and safety team shares the same knowledge and expertise. To do this, it needed a core of its specialist managers to have the same qualification.

Our team at our Woodland Grange training centre in Leamington Spa teaches the Oxford Brookes University Diploma in Health and Safety Management. We also create training and qualifications around members' specific business needs. It was a logical progression, therefore, to meet ABB's requirement by developing an international diploma, also accredited by the university.

The international diploma teaches health and safety best management practice according to international standards and national standards that exceed those in other parts of the world.

The first ABB group included delegates from Brazil, China, Dubai, Scandinavia and Spain to begin their training at Woodland Grange. Three subsequent training modules took place in Barcelona, Dubai and Beijing to give delegates - and our trainers - a feel for the company's operations around the world. A second international ABB group has now begun training.
