Can NetRegs save you money?

NetRegs has launched a new self-assessment questionnaire, which gives you an individual report with guidance on your specific environmental obligations by law.

NetRegs is a free website offering environmental guidance for small businesses. Run by the Environment Agency, it helps you understand what you need to do to protect the environment and stay compliant with the law. All information entered by a business is dealt with anonymously.

The site demonstrates that taking action to reduce your environmental footprint needn’t cost you money; in fact you can save thousands of pounds by reducing waste and improving your energy and water efficiency.

To complete the confidential, self-assessment questionnaire, visit the NetRegs website and click on the green environmental compliance button on the right-hand side. You can save your report and refer to it later.

NetRegs also offer an e-alerts service, to help you keep up-to-date. Sent out every two months, these give bite-size information on new and changing legislation – such as the new requirements under the landfill regulations banning the landfilling of untreated non-hazardous waste and liquid wastes, which came into force on 30 October 2007.

You can also find your nearest licensed waste contractor or recycling facility through NetRegs’ interactive Waste Directory – available free, 24 hours a day.
