environmental policy

Environmental policy and issues are now right at the top of the business agenda. Manufacturers recognise that investing in environmental policies and audits can benefit their business, as well as helping solve the challenges that society faces in addressing climate change.

As well as informing member companies how they can derive competitive gains from investing in the environment, EEF campaigns at UK and European level to ensure that emerging environmental policies designed to improved the environment and address climate change do not penalise manufacturers. Key issues include developing a better strategy for waste and recycling in the UK, boosting investment in energy efficiency and dealing with specific pieces of legislation such as the WEEE policy (Waste, Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive.
