EEF wins prestigious national insurance award

Release date: 11/07/2008

EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation has won the prestigious ‘Broking Initiative of the Year’ award at the British Insurance Awards for a groundbreaking insurance scheme which has saved companies substantial sums on their premiums by rewarding best practice.

EEF Insurance Services (EEFIS) was set up in response to escalating premiums and because companies felt they weren’t being rewarded for the investments they have made in health & safety processes to reduce their risk.

The innovative scheme has been developed in partnership with R K Harrison, a leading independent broker and comprises a panel of four of the UK’s leading insurance companies: Norwich Union, Travelers, AXA and Allianz. Launched in July last year, members who have converted to EEFIS have saved up to 46% off their existing premium with one company saving over £100,000.

Nominees had to display an ability to address customer needs, show the significant impact they’ve had on the market as well as the use of creativity and imagination used throughout the process. Held at the Royal Albert Hall, the annual British Insurance Awards is one of the most prestigious events in the insurance industry’s calendar, and over 2000 people gathered to acknowledge top performers.

Commenting, EEF Chief Executive Officer, Gilbert Toppin, said:

"This innovative award demonstrates the continued excellence of our business services and the value EEF can add to the bottom line of companies right across their business."

Stuart Rootham, EEFIS Director says "This award is recognition of all of the hard work in providing EEF members with a service that not just meets their expectations, but exceeds them. The response from members to the service has been quite fantastic".
