EEF responds to DEFRA consultation on greenhouse gas reporting

EEF has responded to DEFRA’s draft guidance on how to measure and report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

We were broadly supportive of the guidance and firmly support efforts to measure and to report GHG emissions. We agree with the principle that unless greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) are measured they can’t be managed. As a result, we encourage all members to take early action and to measure and report GHG emissions as a matter of good business practice.

However, our response to government does outline a number of recommendations on how the guidance can be improved and how we feel government should be more proactive.
