EEF’s health and safety survey, 'Leading the way' provides a timely insight into the views of the manufacturing, engineering and technology industries. At a time when the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is consulting on a new strategy and we are experiencing the toughest economic conditions for many years, good understanding of the costs, benefits and position of health and safety management is more important than ever.
This survey provides important intelligence for regulators on how their interventions are perceived and acted upon. It also gives businesses an opportunity to compare their own approach and performance to the manufacturing sector as a whole and can help in identifying where best to focus their efforts to improve performance.
EEF will use the survey findings both in its representation work with government and in shaping the support and training to improve its offers to members and clients.
