EEF comment on Prime Minister's economy speech

“The Prime Minister repeated the messages we have consistently heard from government that we need to build a more balanced and resilient economy and we need a clear plan to achieve this; few in the private sector could disagree. But once again this plan does not go much beyond balancing the books. Businesses that can deliver the exports and investment we need for a more balanced economy still need to see a clear vision for our economy and demonstrable commitments for all parts of government to make this a reality.”
