Paris climate talks: how the agreement will impact UK manufacturing

The Paris climate talks has initiated a new course for the global climate effort, we look at what the impact will be for manufacturers and the steps you should be taking now.

The U.N. Climate Change Conference in Paris was a key milestone in the global efforts to tackle climate change. The agreements made mark a step change in the two-decade-old global approach, with a commitment to a common framework across all countries to put forward their ‘best efforts’ and to strengthen them in the years ahead.

Here, in the UK, you may think we are already putting forward our ‘best efforts’ but you can expect the pressures on your business to manage your emissions to be increased and, importantly, those measures that aim to minimise UK PLC’s emissions to ramp up. Measures, such as, closing coal fired and old nuclear power stations that should already be on your radar as posing a significant business risk.

This webinar will take you through what was agreed in Paris and look at the likely impact within the context of the current levels of taxation, legislation and the volatility and reliability of the energy market.
