ENGINEERING COMPANIES HAVE CONFIDENCE JOLTED

The global financial crisis has finally caught up with the Scottish manufacturing engineering sector. For the first time in five years output volume and recruitment figures are negative, according to the latest Quarterly Review of the engineering industry in Scotland.

A TEAM OF THREE ROBOTS IS LEAVING SCOTLAND THIS WEEK FOR ROMANIA

Clansman Dynamics of East Kilbride were congratulated by Dr Peter Hughes , Chief Executive of Scottish Engineering when they shipped out a one million Euro order for three robots to Romania. BORDERS ENGINEERING APPRENTICE WINS TOP AWARD

A Kelso engineering apprentice has won a prestigious national craft award.

Edward Beck (18) who is a mechanical engineering apprentice with DMI Mechanical Engineers of Kelso was presented with his award and a cheque for £500 by Sandy Shaw, National & Overseas Verification Manager, EMTA Awards Limited at the ceremony held in Scottish Engineering’s headquarters in Glasgow today (Friday 19 September).
