The Leadership and Management Development (LMD) programme, is the opportunity for all levels of management in Welsh organisations to access funding for training designed to enhance skills leading to improved business performance.

The programme which runs from June 2010 to March 2014 is supported by the Welsh Government and the European Social Development Fund (ESF).
EEF has been selected as one of only a few providers to deliver Leadership and Development support to organisations under this programme which will:
- Reflect the Welsh Government’s priorities for education, learning, skills and economic development.
- Deliver value for money, accredited training that meets National Occupational Standards (NOS).
Who is it for?
The LMD programme is aimed at all levels of leadership within organisations and can encompass a large range of topics covered within the NOS. These include:
- Managing Self & Personal Skills
- Providing Direction
- Facilitating Change
- Working with People
- Using Resources
- Achieving Results
An area often neglected is the development of first line leaders/middle managers and this programme can be tailored to enhance the development of this strategically critical group of leaders.
What are the benefits?
Depending on the size of your company, the programme will fund between 50 - 70% of your cost of training reducing the cost of training a leader to as little as £42 per delegate per day.
Who can apply for this funding?
EEF currently has a contract to offer this support to organisations based in the geographical region of South East Wales, i.e. from Bridgend in the West to Chepstow in the East and as far up as the border of Mid Wales.
