The Certificate in Training Practice is the most widely-recognised qualification for those seeking success and credibility in the field of training and development. The ‘training for the trainer’ programme enables training and development professionals or those aspiring to a career in this field, to develop the expertise to understand, identify, deliver and evaluate training within their organisation.

Who should attend the CIPD Certificate in Training Practice (CTP) course?

This training programme will be beneficial for training practitioners who require professional recognition in the field of training and development. It is also highly suitable for aspiring or new trainers with little experience or training, or administrators or line managers who need to gain a thorough grounding in the training cycle and the fundamentals of learning and development.

No formal prior qualifications are required; however candidates will need to have a level of numeracy, literacy and IT skills to enable them to participate and complete the assessments.

EEF recognises that it is not always easy to take time away from work and therefore offers this programme on a flexible basis. Twelve taught days (one or two per month over six or twelve months) are supplemented with four workbooks to be completed in delegates’ own time. CIPD recommends 240 hours’ study time to complete the course. This includes all taught sessions, reading and completion of all assignments.
