This flexible programme allows delegates to choose a qualification that is most appropriate for their needs, i.e. the PgCert, PgDip or MSc.

What are the benefits of attending MSc / PgDip / PgCert in Health, Safety & Environmental Management training?

The aim of the PgCert is to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to manage environmental issues within organisations.

The aim of the PgDip stage is to review and evaluate current techniques of health, safety and environmental management and to develop the necessary skills to enable relevant techniques to be applied at strategic and other levels within organisations.

After successful completion of the PgDip delegates can opt to undertake a dissertation on a HSE topic to attempt to obtain an MSc. This consists of an individual research study on a selected topic chosen by the student and approved by the supervisor. Topics can be related to health, safety & environment issues or interdisciplinary and the dissertation allows a student to deepen their knowledge and understanding of their area of study.

How is the MSc / PgDip / PgCert in Health, Safety & Environmental Management course structured?

Post Graduate Certificate (PgCert) in Health, Safety & Environmental Management

The Post Graduate Certificate (PgCert) in Health, Safety & Environmental Management consists of two modules. Module 1 is 6 days, Module 2 is 5 days. For full programme details see below.

Post Graduate Diploma (PgDip) in Health, Safety & Environmental Management

Delegates can then opt to take a further three 5 day modules to obtain a Post Graduate Diploma (PgDip) in Health, Safety & Environmental Management. The PgDip will meet the entry requirements into IEMA at Associate level (AIEMA). For full programme details see below.

MSc in Health, Safety & Environmental Management

After completion of the PgDip delegates can opt to undertake a dissertation based on any health, safety & environment, in order to achieve the MSc in Health,Safety & Environmental Management. The dissertation is supervised by Oxford Brookes University. For full programme details see below.

All assessments are assignment and project based.

Accredited Prior Learning (APL) may be awarded against the PgDip for those who hold the IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management and/or the NEBOSH Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management. Details on request.
