NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Safety and Health

The NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Safety and Health is a nationally recognised qualification. It is designed to provide a sound breadth of underpinning knowledge that enables people to discharge more effectively their duties or functions with respect to health and safety in construction activities.

Who should attend

Non-specialists in health and safety who require sound initial training leading to a basic recognised qualification through examination and assessment. These would include managers and supervisors, safety representatives and representatives of employee safety.

Course structure

  • Unit NGC1 – Management of health and safety*
  • Unit CC1 – Management of construction hazards
  • Unit CC2 – Construction health and safety practical application

* Those who have obtained the [NEBOSH National General Certificate], passed unit NGC1 of the [NEBOSH National General Certificate] or passed the NEBOSH National Diploma Paper A1 within the last five years will only have to take and pass units CC1 AND CC2. Candidates must successfully complete all three units to achieve the overall qualification.

Assessment

Each candidate will be required to carry out a practical assessment in the workplace (CC2) and to sit two exams of two hours each (NGC1 and CC1) on completion of the course. Those who have already passed NGC1 as part of the [NEBOSH National General Certificate] will not be required to resit this exam.
