MSc in Health, Safety and Environmental Management
After successful completion of the PgDip delegates can opt to undertake a dissertation on a health, safety or environmental topic. This consists of an individual research study on a selected topic in health, safety and environmental management and is normally around 15,000 words.
The dissertation allows the student to deepen knowledge and understanding of a concept or problem in the area of health safety and environmental management producing an extended individual study. The student develops independence of critical analysis and synthesis.
An introduction to topic selection and the carrying out of work on the dissertation is provided in the Research Methods module.
The topic is then chosen by the student and approved by the supervisor and the programme leader. Each student has an individual supervisor and progress is monitored by the module leader.
Topics can be related to health, safety and environmental issues or interdisciplinary.
