Climate change policy - some common misconceptions

This paper analyses some of the recent allegations made by green lobbyists and others regarding the EU Emissions Trading Scheme, carbon pricing and the alleged economic benefits of the EU moving unilaterally to a 30% 2020 carbon reduction target.

 

Amongst other things, the paper deals with the impact of the recession on the effectiveness of the Emissions Trading Scheme, the need to stimulate investment in green technologies and the impact of the Clean Development Mechanism.
